The new National Educational Policy

For some time now, a lot of discussion has been going on in the education sector about the new National Educational Policy.

The new National Educational Policy looks hopeful, inspiring, and tecnoadvent; however...

For some time now, a lot of discussion has been going on in the education sector about the new National Educational Policy. Various points from the new policy are being discussed. Along with that, there are discussions on its positive and negative aspects. The implementation of the new policy has brought significant changes starting from the current academic session, and its nature has become clear. In the new policy, emphasis is given to education in the mother tongue. Accordingly, from the current academic session, science will be taught in 22 regional languages from the first to the twelfth grade based on the D.T.Ed. (Diploma in Teacher Education) technology, which will start at about 200 units.

Shortly, this will also be available on YouTube, as well as on OTT platforms. It is essential to assess and develop the teaching skills of teachers. To do this, the level and capacity of teachers need to be defined, their training needs to be assessed, necessary training needs to be provided, and guidance should be made available when required. The establishment of educational review centers will also be undertaken. In it, the presence of students, results, midday meals, and other facilities will be real-time data. In the coming five years, they will be upgraded to the 'Center of Excellence'. Finally, it is time to make direct use of the new educational standards, which have been developed based on educational practices since independence.

From the current academic session, the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) program will start. Although this looks excellent on paper, the direct implementation of this new standard will be a significant challenge. It will be necessary to create new facilities for the modern amenities of the new standard. The formation of an army of qualified teachers will be essential for that. For this, the training of teachers should be improved by changing the teacher training institutions from the root, giving them proper guidance, conducting necessary training, and providing support when needed. It will also be necessary to develop new curricula for new-generation teachers.

For the success of the new teaching, it is necessary to first train the teachers well. For this, the teacher training institutions need to be transformed by making significant changes and improvements over the next four years. It will be a significant challenge, even though it may seem excellent on paper. Financial resources will be the most significant hurdle. The creation of new facilities for the new basic amenities will be needed. A significant amount of the budget will be spent on teacher training. Creating a competitive salary structure and encouraging English in the country will be crucial to attracting new talent in the teaching profession. Once again, the success of the new educational policy and, therefore, the future of the country will depend on how efficiently the government, educational institutions, universities, teachers, parents, and students play their respective roles.
